What's better than rockin' like it's 1995 again? Rockin' like it's 1994!!! Yeah baby, peak 90s! Torn jeans, tight little velvet dresses, bob cuts and bleached blonde center partings were the rage, and you know what else? Angsty, angry, alt-rock was having its hey-day. Two of the biggest bands back then were, Stone Temple Pilots, and, Live... and they are coming to Arizona Federal Theatre this Monday, August 19th 2024 for the ultimate 1994 throwback, the Jubilee Tour! Get your tickets right now!

Oh, this is gonna be HUGE! Stone Temple Pilots co-headline with Live, plus special guests Soul Asylum, and, Our Lady Peace. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Live's Throwing Copper and Stone Temple Pilots' Purple. “Fans of the iconic bands can expect a night of hit songs from those albums,” the bands said at the tour announcement, “and much more, with a full set of music by each group spanning generations.”

Stone Temple Pilots and Live co-headlining Jubilee Tour, 2024 blasts out of Concord, California, and crashes through another 17 cities across North America before wrapping up in Indianapolis, Indiana. STP will close out the show on roughly half the nights, while Live are playing last on the others. Stone Temple Pilots' sophomore album, Purple, was released in mid-1994, selling a staggering six million copies in the US alone. Meanwhile, Live finally made the big leagues with their third LP, Throwing Copper, selling a slightly more staggering eight million copies in the US.

Not much has changed over the last 30 years for Stone Temple Pilots, the current lineup still consists of founding members, guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, and drummer Eric Kretz. However, after the death of Scott Weiland, in 2015, he was replaced by Chester Bennington until his death, in 2017, when the batten was passed to lead singer Jeff Gutt. The current lineup has since released two albums, a self-titled album in 2018, and Perdida in 2020, but the bands' live shows continue to heavily rely on their earlier 90s and 00s hits.

Live... are not the same band they were 30 years ago, the sole remaining original member is lead singer Ed Kowalczyk. Having parted ways with the rest of the original members, guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Patrick Dahlheimer, and drummer Chad Gracey in 2022. There has been a lot written about this weird breakup, and you can read the whole thing over in Rolling Stone’s 2023 feature.

Well, regardless of who is currently in the bands, It's still going to be a night of classic 90s angst and rage, with hits like “Interstate Love Song,” “Plush,” “Big Empty,” “Lightning Crashes,” “Selling The Drama,” “I Alone,” “Runaway Train,” “Black Gold,” “Misery,” “Superman’s Dead,” “Clumsy,” and “One Man Army.” So, grab some tickets here for the Stone Temple Pilots co-headline Jubilee Tour with Live. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Live's Throwing Copper and Stone Temple Pilots' Purple. Plus special guests, Soul Asylum, and, Our Lady Peace.
