With a series of shows in the list, fans of the “Lalala” and “Edamame” hitmaker are in luck because he’l be hopping across major cities. The Vancouver-based artist is releasing his self-titled album this October, right before heading out for the “Internet Explorer Tour.” In signature bbno$ fashion, the man dropped a classic tease of what to expect from the new record through a new song & video “hot topic.” The humor-filled anthem packs his signature groovy beats, pop culture references, and what he describes as “oxymoronic rap”. With groovy notes in the track, it was definitely a welcome surprise. In the video, we see the “it boy” sporting goth makeup as he dances on the street with other Hot Topic regulars — living out his cybergoth dance party to which his father initially didn’t approve of. Later embracing his style, it’s a weirdly heartwarming masterpiece.
Of course, it ain’t a bbno$ video if there isn’t anything unexpected. Gaming Youtube personality JSchlatt acts as bbno$’s dad, even though the man is actually five years younger than the singer. Haeven Ennen, Zander Small, Seth Haslip, and Anthony Po also make an appearance on the music video.
Alexander Leon Gumuchian, professionally known as bbno$, came crashing out of the scene with his 2019 single “Lalala” becoming a viral hit and scored a #10 entry on the Canadian Hot 100. His international fame further skyrocketed with his song “Edamame” feat. Rich Brian, which was also used in several films & trailers. Across his discography, he has frequently collaborated with fellow rapper Yung Gravy. In 2025, he won a Juno Fan Choice Award. Known for his “oxymoronic rap” style, bbno$ has shared that “I just make dumbass music that bangs,” he told Slug Mag. “It’s pop music that’s laced with really stupid lyrics.”
With a new album coming right up + a huge Internet Explorer Tour in the radar, it’s an exciting new era for the rapper who never fails to throw in amusing surprises.
