During her teens, Madison Beer posted song covers on YouTube — one that Justin Bieber would soon discover and share them on his Twitter page. Gaining significant attention and praise across the internet, Beer took the time to hone her skills and passion for writing songs. Later on, she released her own hits, signed a record deal, gained platinum singles, and made her way to jam-packed tours. 

A decade into her career, “Locket” marks her third full-length record, one that serves her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Bittersweet” — proving high anticipation towards her new release. Rolling Stone describes the track as “a plush, post-breakup cut that whipsaws through the stages of post-relationship grief with a generous clarity.” While it might be surprising for many, what matters most is that she's stayed true to her heart for songs that powerfully share her emotions — not chasing charts and streams.

Created and co-produced herself, you can definitely hear how much she’s grown as an artist — her attention to detail is simply astounding. “I definitely wanted to lean into that sort of whimsical feeling that I feel like I captured with songs like “Reckless” in the past,” while explaining the need to evolve from those patterns, letting raw emotions take the lead while making sure she doesn’t go overboard. 

“It was such a part of my every waking moment—the good days, the bad days, the break-up—so a lot of it really wrote itself.”
