A 2000s rock fest is coming to the Arizona Financial Theatre on Monday, June 1st. Some of the kings of the summer tracks in that era, led by Yellowcard and their "Ocean Avenue," are taking over this Phoenix landmark. If you're one of those people who feel they don't make rock bands as they used to, number one, you're right, and two, you'll have a chance to step back in time with these bands hitting the stage.
The Up Up Down Down Tour, headlined by Yellowcard, also features New Found Glory and Plain White T's. New Found Glory might hit the crowd with "It's All Downhill From Here." Just know, though, that when that happens, there will still be plenty of music left. "Hey There Delilah" is without a doubt THE song from Plain White T's that people will remember most. They have a library filled with emotional tracks that can also help set the tone for the night.
This show is like taking a time machine back to the 2000s and heading to a summer concert. If that's something that feels like it's up your alley, then go ahead and hit the "Buy Tickets" link because spots at the Arizona Financial Theatre will sell out fast.
The vibe at this event is one that you won't be able to replicate at any concert all year. Three of the top rock bands of the 2000s joining forces is not something that you get a chance to see every week. Each of these three has at least one or two songs that hit big time. We'd say "went viral," but that was definitely not a thing when "Lights and Sounds" was on the radio and in that commercial with the hockey players. This is a little bit like putting on an old pair of pants; it's just going to fit right!
This is one of the elements that make this concert unique. You're not just skimming through the opening acts and just waiting for the main event. From the moment that the Plain White T's play "Hey There Delilah," you're going to be taken back in time, and it's going to be the first leg on an epic emotional roller coaster. That ride's gonna take you through "My Friends Over You" and the obvious road trip down "Ocean Avenue." Each of these bands has something to bring to the table, and that makes this a very interesting performance from cover to cover.
The general admission in the pit at the front of the theater is where you'll want to be if you want the rock show experience. If you decide to get these tickets, make sure that you arrive early because that's the only way to claim a good spot near the stage. Now, if you're looking for a place to watch the show where you can also sit down when you need to, there are some great spots in the upper levels where you can find deals on tickets that will have surprisingly good views of the entire performance.
If you know you want to be at this concert, then don't wait to click the "Buy Tickets" link. These spots might sell out sooner than you expect.
