The band from Winnepeg, Canada rose to prominence in 1969 when they made their major label debut. Wheatfield Soul broke into the US chart and also landed at a cool number 3 on the Canadian charts. The band continued their winning streak with their later releases and even landed at number 1 in Canada with their 1970 album American Woman. The title track and “No Sugar Tonight,” from this album also went to the top of the charts in both US and Canada. The Guess Who is a benchmark of psychedelic and blues rock, being the earliest purveyors of such genre, making their influence in the circuit totally unprecedented. In 2025, the band reunited with two original members Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings.
