Every and all who lived through the great music era of the 1990s, will remember Hootie & The Blowfish. You’ll remember that iconic, warm voice that is heard in every single one of the Grammy Award-winning band’s top-charters; and you’ll remember how the band became a mainstay on every single CD player and radio station. You’ll remember how Hootie & The Blowfish exploded onto the music scene with their 1994 debut album Cracked Rear View featuring the singles Hold My Hand, Let Her Cry, Only Wanna Be With You, and Time, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time.
After frontman and guitarist Darius Rucker embarked on his solo career, he continued the massive streak of success with his peaking singles Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It, It Won’t Be Like This For Long, Alright, and History in the Making. He was right with the title of the latter - because he became the first black American to win the New Artist Award from the Country Music Association. His single Wagon Wheel is one of the top five best-selling country songs of all time. To bring the successful solo career he has carved out home even more, Darius Racker has racked up no less than two Country Music Association Awards, a Grammy Award as solo artist, and an Academy of Country Music Award.
It’s fair to say that Darius Rucker came, he sang, and he conquered.
And now, 25 years after he started walking the country road solo, Darius Rucker is on tour once more, and is slated to bring his massive hotpot of Hootie & The Blowfish classics, country hits, singalongs, anthems, and unexpected covers to audiences across North America. The Songs Of Summer Tour 2026 is slated to kick off in early June 2026 in Toledo, Ohio, rolling into 18 more major cities before wrapping up in early August 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Darius Rucker will be joined on tour by Nashville-based Americana string band Old Crow Medicine Show, best known for smashers such as Sweet Amarillo and Cocaine Habit, and troubadour Austin Williams, the creative mind behind hits such as Wanna Be Saved and Stuck on Me.
